Once a quarter and at Christmas time, the Rockwall Soroptimists descend upon Reese Manor. Reese Manor is an apartment for low income seniors and there are about forty three residents at the manor.

Each quarter we have a luncheon on a Sunday afternoon for all of the residents and we celebrate the birthdays that occur during that quarter. The Luncheon has themes such as Beach Party, Sock Hop, Cowboy, etc. We play games, sing and dance and each birthday person is given a gift card to Wal-Mart in the amount of $50.00. At Christmas time, we also have a luncheon, but the gift card is in the amount of $100.00. The first year that we had a Christmas party, we shopped for gifts for everyone. We were told that the residents would rather have a gift card so they could do their own shopping. Some of these people do not have any family and they have adopted us.

Each time that we visit Reese Manor we are blessed. We have become friends and family and with each visit we get cards of thanks. The positive impact of this program is very apparent. For example, one of the residents passed away and her family gave the Rockwall Soroptimists $300.00 to use for the STARS program.
